Ellaretha Coleman founded Property Claims Litigation Group to do one thing: stand up for policyholders when their own insurance company refuses to pay what it owes.
Her commitment to this work is personal. While Ellaretha was in law school, her father passed away. The life insurance company denied her family's claim on a technicality, leaving them to deal with the loss and the insurer at the same time. From that moment, she set out to learn everything she could about insurance claims so that what happened to her family would not happen to anyone else.
Fighting for Policyholders
Ellaretha has practiced law since 2005 and has devoted her career to representing homeowners and business owners in fire, water, storm, theft, and other property claims that have been wrongfully denied, delayed, or underpaid. She has taken and defended hundreds of depositions of adjusters and expert witnesses. She has also protected policyholders' rights during recorded statements and examinations under oath.
She prepares every case as if it is going to trial. Insurance companies know which lawyers will take a case to a jury, and Ellaretha builds every claim with that in mind, from the first policy review through the final demand. Over her career representing policyholders, she has recovered millions of dollars for clients whose claims were wrongfully denied or underpaid.
